Roly Sussex is an Australian linguist.

He is the Emeritus Professor of Applied Language Studies at the School of Languages and Comparative Cultural Studies of the University of Queensland in Brisbane.

Sussex hosts a talk-back program on language and linguistics on ABC Radio in Queensland, Tasmania, South Australia and the Northern Territory and writes a weekly column, "word limit", for The Courier-Mail. Sussex will appear at the Bardon Bowls Club for one night only to discuss how vulnerable is our digital world. Secure your tickets today.

· Adopt an amendment to the rules of Rules of Association. 21.6 emeritus Membership. 

(6) The Board has the option of appointing emeritus members of the Board Emeritusmembers are not required to attend meetings of the Board unless invited at whichpoint are granted all the voting rights accorded to a member of the Board. Emeritusboard members are typically individuals who have dedicated a significant portion oftheir lives to the organization. Hedley's fight for justice to solve cold case murders of Australian women led him to pursue Chris Dawson for the 2018 global smash hit Podcast The Teacher's Pet and sequels which have amassed 100 million downloads worldwide and topped the charts in Australia, the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and New Zealand.

Hosted by Anthony Lamond the Q & A will cover Hedley's experiences on his 40-year career in journalism, starting out as a copyboy on the Gold Coast Bulletin in 1984 through to being The Australian's national chief correspondent and collecting eight Walkley Awards (including two Gold Walkley's) along the way. Hedley will also talk about being an author and his motivation to create a series of Podcasts that have given women a voice from the grave.

Renowned for his dedication, loyalty and hard work, Hedley's disclosures will help you understand how it is possible to shine a light on big topics in a quest for justice.

On a freezing cold winter’s day in 1969, The Beatles added yet another iconic chapter to the folklore of rock ’n’ roll history with their last ever live performance - THE ROOFTOP CONCERT. Perched high upon the roof of their Apple business headquarters in downtown London, The Beatles were back to the raw power of their rock ’n’ roll best, delighting an unsuspecting crowd with their new songs ‘Get Back’, ‘Don’t Let Me Down’, ‘I’ve Got a Feeling’ and more. With a little help from their friend Billy Preston on keys, John, Paul, George and Ringo showed the world, yet again, why they were the greatest band of all time.

The Honey Sliders are bringing The Rooftop Concert back to life, along with an extended set of Beatles’ hits and rarities, at Bardon Bowls Club, Wed 13th Nov, 2024. Show starts at 7pm.

Far from being Beatles impersonators, The Honey Sliders are a band made up of some of the most respected musicians in Australia, including the multiple award-winning Danny Widdicombe (The Wilson Pickers, Bernard Fanning, Tim Rogers, Shane Nicholson), Dan Mansfield (You Am I, Gin Club), Bos Borley (Bernard Fanning, The Resin Dogs), and Ben Carstens (Mexico City). The Honey Sliders meticulously recreate these songs that have touched the hearts of so many people around the world.
